Can Bleaching or Whitening weaken Teeth? Quite simply, no. Bleaching or whitening will not weaken the structure of your teeth. However, this does not mean that bleaching and whitening products cannot damage your teeth. Overuse of such products can damage tooth enamel. According to a study by Dr. Shereen Azer, at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, overuse of bleaching and whitening products can result in loss of enamel ranging from 1.2 to 2 nanometers.
