What Are You Able to Drink During Your Invisalign Treatment?

Everyone has their favorite drinks, too, so many wonder if coffee, tea, or juice is okay to drink while using Invisalign.

Wondering what you can drink is one of the most common questions those with Invisalign ask their dentists or orthodontists. Everyone has their favorite drinks, too, so many wonder if coffee, tea, or juice is okay to drink while using Invisalign. The good news is that when you have Invisalign aligners on, you will not have to change your lifestyle all that much. That is in stark comparison to normal braces, which could have some not-so-nice difficulties when it comes to what you’re able to drink and not drink. Of course, when you wear Invisalign aligners, you are looking to give yourself a much brighter smile, so there are a handful of pointers to keep in mind when drinking your favorite beverages. Read on to learn more!

Is Coffee Okay to Drink with Invisalign?

Coffee is amazing. It is the morning drink of choice of billions around the world, and it can give you the jolt you need to get through your day. But can you drink it during Invisalign? The answer is yes, but not when you’re wearing your Invisalign aligners. You see, coffee doesn’t necessarily affect your Invisalign treatment, but it could cause staining on your teeth and Invisalign. If you are trying to achieve a great smile, then you may want to avoid anything that could cause staining. If you do want to drink coffee, then take out your Invisalign aligners, brush your teeth before you put them back in. Remember, you must wear your Invisalign for around 22 hours daily for the best results.

Is Tea Okay to Drink with Invisalign?

Just like coffee, tea could also cause staining in your aligners. We know that tea is a way of life for many, so if you don’t want to drink tea, we recommend removing your Invisalign aligners before you take any sips. Once you have finished your tea, brush your teeth and make sure you rinse your mouth with water, and you are good to put them back in.

Is Juice Okay to Drink with Invisalign?

All fruit juice is acidic, but a few are much more acidic than others. For example, lemon and lime juice are way more acidic than apple juice. To stay safe, we recommend only drinking juice in moderation or during special occasions. You should at least stick to drinking less acidic juices like peace juice, apple juice, or pear juice.
